Pittsfield Girls Top McCann Tech

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Quinn Wheeler scored a pair of goals Wednesday to lead the Pittsfield girls soccer team to a 2-0 win over McCann Tech.

Abbey Wong and Nora Hammill each assisted on a goal, and Ella Kroboth made the one save she needed to make to keep a clean sheet.

“Younger players Quinn Wheeler, Mabyn Gorman and Addie Palmer were fantastic today and gave our team much needed energy and sparks when needed,” Pittsfield coach Molly West said.

Bella Lefevre had another strong game in goal for the Hornets, stopping 27 shots.

“I am incredibly proud of our all-around effort today against a highly skilled squad in a higher division than McCann,” Hornets coach Lindsay Lincoln said.

McCann Tech (2-8-2) travels to face Ware on Friday.

Pittsfield (8-7) hosts Monument Mountain on Thursday.
