Mount Everett Girls Fall to Gateway
SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- The Gateway girls soccer team Friday scored three unanswered goals in the second half to earn a 4-1 win over Mount Everett.
The Eagles struck first when Ainsley Krens set up Josie Waveris. But the Gators shut down Mount Everett's offense from there.
"They all played hard for the entire game," Mount Everett coach Robert Giumarro said. "I love the fighting spirit and camaraderie this team has. The one takeaway from this game is that we now have a better idea where our strengths and weaknesses are with our first game behind us."
Kamari Pridgen played a strong game in net for the Eagles, Giumarro said.
Mount Everett (0-1) goes to Westfield Tech on Tuesday.
