PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Caroline Maloney scored a pair of goals early to jump start the Lee girls soccer team to a 6-2 win over Taconic on Thursday.

The Wildcats built a 6-1 lead at half-time.

Tiffin Martin scored a pair of goals, and Eboni Gardner added a goal for Taconic, but that was all they could get past Lee keeper Bella Lovato.

Despite the high goal total in the match, Taconic coach Dean Bamford praised both keepers.

"Having known Bella [Lovato] for a number of years coaching her at youth levels, it was nice to see how strong she has developed as a keeper," Bamford said. "I couldn't be prouder of my stand-in goalkeeper, Maria Gonzalez, who was playing in goal for the first time ever"

Taconic (2-8-1) goes to Pioneer Valley Regional on Wednesday.

Lee hosts Mount Everett on Wednesday.
