Seniors Lead Way in Senior Night Win for Spartans

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – Senior Sadie Raifstanger scored twice and assisted on a goal Wednesday to lead the Monument Mountain girls soccer team to a 5-0, Senior NIght win over Hoosac Valley.

Raifstanger set up classmate Lila Brown for the only goal of the first half in the 24th minute of play.

“Though Monument dominated most of the possession, Hoosac Valley mounted solid defense with several strong saves by the Hoosac goalkeeper,” Spartans coach Sean Flynn said.

Raifstanger started a high-scoring second half with her first goal of the game in the 51st minute.

Seniors Lucy Dohoney and and Mallory Lucey tacked on second-half goals, and ninth-grader Addie Aloisi had a pair of assists in the win.

Monument Mountain (6-9-1) waits to learn its next opponent.

The Hurricanes (3-12-2) will look for a berth in next week’s Western Massachusetts Class D Tournament.
