WENHAM, Mass. -- The Hamilton-Wenham girls put back a rebound in the second half to break a 1-1 tie and went on to a 2-1 win over Wahconah in the Division 4 State Tournamet's Sweet 16.

The hosts' Annie Moynihan opened the scoring with a breakaway goal midway through the first half.

But Wahconah answered with two minutes left until half-time when Anna Coye converted a cross from Olivia Gamberoni.

The game-winner came after Wahnconah keeper Edrie Collins (13 saves) made a diving save; Hamilton-Wenham's Ella Schemker followed the shot and cashed in the rebound.

"Wahconah played tough and physical. We were able to force them into some bad shots but ultimately just couldn’t connect in the end," Wahconah coach Maggie Rivers said. "Definitely tested them and their keeper. We left everything on the field."
