DALTON, Mass. – Olivia Johnson scored with eight seconds left in the first half to break a scoreless tie, and the Wahconah girls soccer team Monday went on to a 3-0 win over Easthampton.

“Johnson took a screaming cross from Madi Lee and just placed it in to give the Wahconah girls a 1-0 lead,” Wahconah coach Maggie Rivers said. “Huge play for the freshman duo to come up big and give us the lead going into the half.”

Brooke Harrington and Anna Doyle each scored in the second half. Ellie Chaffee earned an assist.

Paetyn Tatro stopped five shots to earn the shutout win in goal.

“Wahconah girls applied pressure all night and silenced most offensive pressure from Easthampton,” Rivers said. “All around great team win and strong defensive showing from the Warriors.”

Wahconah (6-0) hosts Monson on Thursday.
