Monument Mountain Blanks Franklin Tech

TURNERS FALLS, Mass. – Mercedes Raifstanger had a hat trick Wednesday to lead the Monument Mountain girls soccer team to a 4-0 win over Franklin Tech.

 

Sophia Castro scored a goal, and Lucy Dohoney recorded two assists in the win.

 

Ani Hocker made eight saves to earn the shutout in goal.

 

“Mercedes had a real spark tonight and put together some quality finishing, supported by excellent team play,” Monument Mountain coach Brian Jarvis said. “It was nice to see things come together for her out there. All of the girls did a solid job in possession and delivering quality combination play, very proud of the whole team's efforts.”

 

Monument Mountain (6-10) hosts Holyoke on Friday.
