Firth Hat Trick Lifts Spartans on Road

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – Iris Firth recorded her first career hat trick Friday night to lead the Monument Mountain girls soccer team to a 4-1 win over Northampton.
 
Firth scored in the 10th minute with an assist from Alex Tenney and again 13 minutes later with help from Marti Cunningham to send the Spartans into the break with a two-goal lead.
 
Hamp got on the board with an own goal early in the second half.
 
But Firth scored again eight minutes later to re-establish the two-goal margin, this time with help from Marcela Tenuta.
 
Avery Raifstanger capped the scoring with an assist from Jade Nelson.
 
Monument Mountain (3-1-1) takes a three-game winning streak into Tuesday’s home game against Chicopee.
