Wahconah Shuts Out Pittsfield
PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Gianna Heilbroun scored twice Wednesday to lead the Wahconah girls soccer team to a 4-0 win over Pittsfield at Kirvin Park.
Heilbroun scored the game-winner with an assist from Leah Melle.
Melle then cashed in an assist from Brooke Harrington to give Wahconah a 2-0 half-time lead.
Madi Lee stretched that margin with an unassisted goal, and Heilbroun finished the scoring with an assist from Olivia Johnson.
Vivian Higuera stopped two shots to earn the shutout win in goal.
Ella Kroboth made 10 saves for Pittsfield (1-3), which hosts Mount Greylock on Friday.
“Beyond proud of this group for how they showed up today,” PHS coach Molly West said. “While not happy with the final score, we met team goals and did a lot of little things the right way. We are young to several starting positions and many girls are growing quickly and working hard to find their place on the field.”
Wahconah (2-1) is home against Lenox on Friday.
