LENOX, Mass. -- Solia Herndon-Schmid scored midway through the first half, and the Lenox defense made the lead hold up for a 1-0 win over Monument Mountain in the first round of the Berkshire County North Division playoffs.

Herdon-Schmid cashed in an assist from Molly night in the 25th minute, and Ella Hall made 12 saves to earn the shutout win in goal.

"Capitalizing on a corner kick from Molly Knight that bounced around the box, Solia was able to find the back of the net," Lenox coach Brian Seminara said. "For the remainder of the night, Monument goalkeeper Emily Mead and a strong defense anchored by Olivia Ruggiero made sure to snuff out any other Lenox attack."

Mead made six saves.

Lenox advances to a date against Wahconah in Dalton on Thursday in the county semi-finals.
