GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – Janayah Jones recorded nine kills Tuesday to lead the Taconic volleyball team to a four-set win over Monument Mountain.

Ella Stodden filled the stat sheet with 11 assists, 10 digs, nine aces and a pair of kills in Taconic’s 25-15, 15-25, 25-7, 25-23 win.

“Janayah Jones set the gym on fire tonight with some serious hits from the middle,” Taconic coach Lance Fyfe said. “She had nine kills and a block from the middle of the net with her last crazy swing pounding an overpass down just past the 10-foot line. Her aggressive play certainly was motivating, and she really took the team on her shoulders at times tonight.”

Nevaeh Williams passed out 14 assists while collecting six digs, four kills and four aces.

Camille Kenney and Jadyn Galliher each finished with eight kills, and Natalia Dos Santos pulled up 28 digs.
“Also from the middle, was senior Camille Kenney, who had her best night of the season with eight kills and a dig,” Fyfe said. “Camille had some really nice swings as well as strategically placed tips.

“Jadyn Galliher and Lacey Daly kept the Monument defense busy as well from the left side of the net with a combination of tips and swings which gave the Thunder a combined 11 kills.”

Taconic (3-2) goes to Ware on Thursday.

Monument Mountain (2-4) hosts Wahconah on Thursday.
