PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Janayah Jones delivered six kills, and the Taconic volleyball team Monday bounced back from a road loss by earning its first home win of the season, a sweep of Sci Tech.

Jones also earned two blocks in the 29-27, 25-18, 25-21 win.

“Janayah Jones made some noise in the middle with two blocks and six kills, which was a result of her very aggressive net play,” Taconic coach Lance Fyfe said. “Neveah Williams played her best match of the season with five digs, six aces, seven kills, and 10 assists.”

Ella Stodden had nine assists to go with two kills, four digs and six aces.

“Ella Stodden and Neveah Williams had some great swings on the net proving that they deserve to play on the net as well as the backcourt in a 6-2 offense,” Fyfe said. “Ella went way up in the air tonight to blast the ball cross court from the right side earning her a very impressive kill.”

Jadyn Galliher had five aces on a night when the team compiled 19 points via the ace.

Taconic (5-3) is back on the road Wednesday against Putnam Vocational.
