BELCHERTOWN, Mass. – The Belchertown volleyball team Monday bounced back after dropping the first set to earn a four-set win over Taconic in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class B tournament.

“I'm really proud of how well our three sophomore starters handled the pressure tonight in their first ever Western Mass tournament match,” Taconic coach Lance Fyfe said. “Belchertown is a very strong team and they kept the pressure on us all night.”

Janayah Jones and Lacey Daley led the Thunder with eight and seven kills, respectively.

“Natalia Dos Santos had a really impressive night with 35 digs, 4 kills and an ace,” Fyfe said. “She really went all out tonight and her effort was truly motivating.”

Ella Stodden passed out a team-high 23 assists.

Taconic (13-6) gets one more regular season game against an opponent to be determined.
