Spartans Earn Three-Set Win on Road

CHICOPEE, Mass. – Harper Godwin had a big night statistically Friday as the Monument Mountain volleyball team beat Hampden Charter, 3-2.

Godwin put down three kills, served four aces, pulled up four digs and distributed two assists in the victory.

“A fantastic team effort tonight, really proud of this group,” Monument Mountain coach Kyle Henry said. “Our serve kept a good Hamden team off balance. We served at just under 90% as a team with 19 aces. Defensively we covered the floor really well and allowed our setters to use all of our attackers.”

Hazel Curletti had four blocks to go with her three kills and six aces.

Reina Park directed the Spartans’ offense with nine assists and served four aces while recording four digs.

Monument Mountain (8-2) hosts Duggan Academy on Wednesday.
