Taconic Earns Rivalry Win over Pittsfield

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Janayah Jones had 12 kills Friday night to lead the Taconic volleyball team to a four-set win over Pittsfield.
 
Jones also pulled up seven digs and had a pair of blocks in the 25-13, 22-25, 26-24, 25-16 win.
 
Ella Stodden recorded a double-double for the Thunder with 17 assists and 18 digs.
 
Taconic coach Lance Fyfe singled out a couple of defensive standouts in the rivalry win.
 
"Natalia Dos Santos ran the defense, popping up 29 digs, two of which were 'pancakes,' a kill and two aces," Fyfe said. Sophia Duclos was huge off the bench with 12 digs and four aces."
 
Fyfe said Jadyn Galliher (five kills, four aces) ended the match with a big swing from the left side as Taconic improved to 6-4 this fall.
 
The Thunder is home again on Monday to face Mount Everett.
 
Pittsfield (4-6) goes to Ludlow on Wednesday.
