High School Bowling Standings Tighten Up

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- The Taconic and McCann Tech bowling teams each earned 3-0 wins on Wednesday as the Berkshire County High School Bowling League saw a three-team race develop for first place.
 
The Thunder and Hornets each moved to 14-4 on the season, just one point in the standings behind first-place Lee, which took a 2-1 decision from Monument Mountain to maintain its spot at the top of the standings.
 
Maddie Kotek and Devyn Fillio led the way for the Wildcats, posting a 213 game and 386 two-game series, respectively -- the top scores recorded by girls at Wednesday's meet at Cove Lanes.
 
Taconic, which beat Pittsfield on Wednesday, got a 210 game from Kyla Croshier and a 363 series from Abby Bliss. Luzis Brown rolled a 370 series for the Thunder.
 
McCann Tech defeated Mount Everett on Wednesday. Connor Snow and Reilly Lefebvre paced the Hornets with games of 234 and 223, respectively.
 
The day's top game was a 237 turned in by Pittsfield's Jamari Carnute in a loss to Taconic. Monument Mountain's Mason Bailey had the day's top series, 461, in a loss to Lee.
 
On Friday afternoon, the league makes its first trip to North Adams' King Pins Bowling and Golf. Lee will bowl against Mount Everett while Pittsfield plays McCann Tech and Monument Mountain faces Taconic.
