Drury Bowlers Tie Pittsfield for First in League

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Kaitlyn Mongeon Friday rolled a 349 series to help the Drury bowling team to a 3-0 win that pulled the Blue Devils into a tie for first place in the Berkshire County High School Bowling League.
 
Mongeon recorded the second-best game among girls at Greylock Bowl and Golf, a 214, as Drury blanked Taconic and pulled into a tie with Pittsfield, which had a bye on Friday.
 
Justyn Cowell had Drury's top series, 415 (224-191), the fifth best series among all bowlers on Friday. Michael Oakes (361) and Olivia Mazzacco (311) also helped power the Blue Devils to victory.
 
Taconic got a 352 series (179-150)from Mya Duhamel.
 
The Wahconah Blue and Mount Everett teams also earned 3-0 wins on Friday.
 
For Wahconah Blue, Alex White recorded the week's best game (279) and best two-game series (516) in the league. Amber Wood backed him up with a 237 game and 451 series, the best scores recorded by a girl in Friday's competition, as the Blue defeated the Wahconah Grey.
 
Mount Everett's Tucker Wilkinson (174-161--335) led the Eagles past Mount Greylock, which got a 321 series from Troy Michalak.
 
Friday's closest match saw Lee edge McCann Tech, 2-1.
 
Adam Dingman rolled a 231 game and 461 series to lead the Wildcats, who took the match with a win in the Baker format game.
 
McCann Tech got a 408 series (195-213) from Aleasia Yeaton, who had the second highest series among the girls after Wood.
 
The league goes to Cove Lanes in Great Barrington on Friday. Wahconah Blue will take on Pittsfield while Drury faces the Wahconah Grey.
