NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The Berkshire County Bowling League’s first foray to North Berkshire produced good results for all three northern teams as Drury, Mount Greylock and McCann Tech each registered a win at Greylock Bowl & Golf on Tuesday.

The Blue Devils edged ahead of the Mounties to take over first place in the league standings as the league heads into its holiday hiatus, while McCann is solidly in fourth place after four weeks of action.

The day’s best individual result belonged to South County’s Tom Hankey Jr. of Monument Mountain, who rolled a 460 series (227-233) to lead the third-place Spartans to a 20-11 win over Wahconah.

The top game rolled on Tuesday belonged Pittsfield’s A.J. Moore, whose 246 was not enough to help the Generals beat McCann, which prevailed by a score of 22-9.

The Hornets were led by Brandon Vallone with a 408 series (193-215).

Drury grabbed first place by five points with a 28-3 win over Taconic. Zach Yeaton led the way with a 446 series (222-224). In a losing cause for Taconic, Lynsey Aldam had the best day among the league’s girls, rolling a 365 series (165-200).

The Blue Devils have 105 points so far this year to Mount Greylock’s 100.

The Mounties outbattled Lee, 22-9, thanks to Mark Hayden’s 413 (202-211). Lee was led by Zach Reynolds (155-189--344).

The day’s closest contest came between Mount Everett and the Lee Black team. Lee’s second unit edged the Eagles, 16-15. Anthony Lockenwitz led Lee Black with a 263 series (130-133). Mount Everett’s Tucker Wilkinson rolled a 374 series (171-203).

The action shifts to Great Barrington’s Cove Lanes on Friday, Jan. 6. Third-place Monument Mountain will square off against third-place McCann with six points separating them in the league standings.
