McCann Tech Harriers Edge Mohawk Trail

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Jadon Hartley finished fourth overall to lead the McCann Tech boys cross country team to a dual meet win over Mohawk Trail in a three-team meet at Windsor Lake on Tuesday.

 

Hartley covered the 2.9-kilometer course in 18 minutes, 30 seconds -- just more than a minute behind individual winner Dennis Simmons of Mohawk (17:28).

 

The Hornets defeated Mohawk in their team race by a three-point margin. Greenfield’s boys topped both McCann Tech and Mohawk Trail.

 

In the girls race, Erica Szewczyk (20:25) led a sweep of the top seven places for Mohawk, which posted a pair of dual meet wins.

 

McCann Tech’s Lily Marceau finished 13th overall with a time of 25:24.

 

Girls team scores: Mohawk 15, Greenfield 50; Mohawk 15, McCann Tech 50; Greenfield 17, McCann Tech 40.

 

Boys team scores: Greenfield 22, Mohawk 37; McCann Tech 28, Mohawk 31; Greenfield 21, McCann Tech 36.
