ADAMS, Mass. -- Cole Kratz and Brian Boudreau carded rounds of 45 to sweep their head-to-head matches and lead the McCann Tech golf team to a 16.5-7.5 win over Mohawk Trail Regional on Thursday at Forest Park Country Club.

McCann's margin of victory was three points better than its performance against the same Mohawk squad just a couple of weeks ago -- another sign that the Hornets are improving as the season goes on for second-year coach Corbin Brassard.

"I would say Bradley Tatro has been consistent start to finish, and we expected that," Brassard said. "But Cole Kratz and Brian Boudreau have both taken a big step from the beginning of the year to now. They've both improved their scores by probably close to 10 strokes from the beginning of the season to now."

Tatro carded a 48 on Thursday to halve his match, 2-2, against Mohawk's Aaron Nelson.

Kratz an Boudreau each picked up 4-0 wins, as did Ryan Meehan with another 48.

Mohawk got wins by Andy Robertson against Jake Tower (2.5-1.5) and Sam Nelson against Tristan McMay (3-1).

With the victory, the Hornets' second of the week, McCann Tech improved to 4-4-1 this season.

"They're coming along," Brassard said. "We're getting better. "We still have a chance to reach our goal, which is to make Western Mass, which is all you can ask for."

McCann needs to win half its matches to reach that goal. Its next dual match is Monday at home against Greenfield; the Green Wave beat the Hornets, 16-8, the first time they met.
