McCann Tech Bowlers Move into First Place

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Austin Davine rolled a 382 series on Friday at Cove Lanes to lead McCann Tech bowling team to a 27-4 win over Mount Everett.
 
The victory gave the Hornets enough points to edge past Lee High into first place in the Berkshire County League standings.
 
McCann has 117.5 points through five weeks, just 1.5 points ahead of the Wildcats, who posted a 24-7 win on Friday over Lee's second unit, the Lee Orange team.
 
In the McCann match, Mount Everett's Alissa Rathbun recorded the day's top game (202) and top series (364) among the girls.
 
The top game and series of the week for all bowlers both belonged to Lee's Devyn Olds, who rolled a 256 game and a 446 series in the win over the Orange.
 
Other winners on Friday were Mount Greylock and third-place Pittsfield (85.5 points).
 
The Mounties used a 332 series (second-best of the week among the girls) to beat Monument Mountain, 27-4.
 
Pittsfield played the closest match of the week, knocking off city rival Taconic, 18-13.
 
On Friday at Ken's Bowl in Pittsfield, McCann squares off against Drury, which had a bye last week, while Lee takes the week off. The Wildcats and Hornets will face each other on Jan. 19 at Greylock Bowl and Golf in North Adams.
