Mount Greylock Boys, Girls Open with Win at Mount Everett

SHEFFIELD, Mass. – The Mount Greylock boys tennis team Monday got first-time varsity wins for all four of its doubles players in a 4-1 win over Mount Everett.
 
The Mount Greylock girls also picked up a 4-1 win over the Eagles as senior Emily Oullette and sophomore Amelia Madrigal earned their first varsity wins at second and third singles, respectively.
 
Both No. 1 players for the Mounties earned victories.
 
Mia Patrick lost just two games on her way to a win at first singles on the girls side. Oscar Heeringa outlasted Mount Everett’s Phillip Enoch for a 6-2, 5-7, 6-1 win in the boys match.
 
Mount Everett’s boys got a point from Aiden Murray at third singles.
 
The Eagles second doubles tandem of Kaylee Cohen and Lucia Cicerchia got their season started with a win.
 
Mount Greylock is scheduled to go to Lenox on Tuesday. Mount Everett is at Monument Mountain on Wednesday.
