DALTON, Mass. – Kesler Anello and Logan Aitken battled the rain and the front 9 at Wahconah Country Club, each carding a 1-over-par round of 35 to earn co-medalist honors and lead the Wahconah golf team to a 154-186 win over Mount Everett on Thursday.

“I'm really impressed with the effort from our team in a total downpour,” Wahconah coach Pete Terpak said. “We had a team vote: Play a shortened six-hole match or tough out nine holes in the rain. It was unanimous: Tough out nine.

“Kes continued his strong play and this was a big night for Logan who has been super solid the past few days.”

Anello recorded birdies on the par-5 fourth hole and the par-5 seventh. Aitken ended his day with a birdie on No. 9, another par 4.

The seventh hole was good to Wahconah, giving birdies to Braylen Washburn and Joe Hoffmann, who both figured into the team score with rounds of 40 and 42, respectively.

Mount Everett was led by Mason Kemp with a 46.

The Eagles (0-5) are at the Country Club of Pittsfield against Pittsfield High on Friday.
