Gamberoni, Olds Lead Wahconah Track Teams to Victory

DALTON, Mass. -- Victoria Gamberoni won the mile and the two-mile runs to lead the Wahconah girls track and field team to a pair of dual meet wins over Taconic and Mount Anthony Union on Wednesday.
 
Tyler Olds swept the hurdles to lead Wahconah’s boys to a pair of wins.
 
Gamberoni won the mile in 5 minutes, 34.65 seconds and the 3200 in 12:28.28.
 
Taconic’s Lily Lobovits swept the throws, winning the shot put with a mark of 30 feet, 1 inch, the discus in 83-10 and the javelin in 85-2. Taconic also got a pair of wins from Aliyah Bolling, who took the 100 in 13.49 and the 200 in 28.16.
 
Olds won the 110 hurdles in 17.80 and the 400 hurdles in 1:02.00. He also ran a leg on Wahconah’s winning 4-by-400 relay quartet, combining with Easton Eberwein, Jack Pudlo and P.J. Pharmer to finish in 3:48.24.
 
Taconic’s boys swept the top three spots in the high jump with Josh Tayi and Mohammed Ahmed clearing 5-10 and Andrew Walchenbach in a group of four to clear 5-2. Ahmed also won the long jump in 19-5.
