Paris Leads Taconic Boys to Dual Meet Win at Mount Greylock
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Jacob Paris finished first to lead the Taconic boys cross country team to a dual meet win over Mount Greylock on Wednesday afternoon.
Paris covered the course in 17 minutes, 51.98 seconds, just fewer than five seconds ahead of Mount Greylock eighth-grader Ollie Swabey (17:56.49).
Taconic’s Chris Adams, Nate Benz and Ethan Millette each cracked the top 10, finishing in sixth, ninth and 10th, respectively.
Monument Mountain’s Peter Larochelle (18:04.14) and Diego Salinetti placed fourth and fifth to help the Spartans win a pair of duals against Mount Greylock and Hoosac Valley.
The Hurricanes were led by Justin Levesque, who placed seventh in 19:14.36.
The girls race was all Mount Greylock, which placed 15 finishers in the top 17 positions.
Katherine Swann led the way in a time of 20:21.73.
The first non-Mountie across the finish line in the girls race was Monument Mountain’s Aria Grossman, who placed 13th in 23:31.17 to help the Spartans earn a dual meet win over Hoosac Valley.
Taconic’s Ella Ives (24:46.49) and Lily Powell finished 19th and 20th, respectively, followed closely by Hoosac Valley eighth-grader Hannah Walsh, who finished 21st in 25:00.23.
