DALTON, Mass. -- Pat McLaughlin carded a 5-over-par 41 on the back nine at Wahconah Country Club Tuesday to earn medalist honors and lead the Wahconah golf team to a 181-194 win over Taconic.

Taconic’s Nate Murphy finished one stroke off the lead after collecting birdies on the par-4 10th and par-4 15th on his way to a 42.

Wahconah (12-2) scored four rounds in the 40s to take the team victory. Brady Breitmier finished at 43. Dam Marcella finished at 48, and Nick Salinetti carded a 49.

"We had to play the back nine tonight and, wow, it's like night and day,” Wahconah coach Pete Terpak said. “The back nine is much more challenging, and there is a premium on short game. The scores certainly reflect that.

“I'm happy with the way our season went. We have a great group of young players and the sky’s the limit in the upcoming years. I think we have a real good shot at [Division 2] Western Mass coming up on Monday at the Berkshire Hills."

Taconic scored rounds from Camdyn McKillop (49), Jackson Molleur (48) and Dom Hall (55).

Taconic goes to Mount Everett on Wednesday.
