DALTON, Mass. – Wahconah’s senior class made Senior Day extra special.

Vincent Scalise recorded two birdies on his way to a 3-over-par 38 on the front nine at Wahconah Country Club to help his team to a 148-175 win over Taconic.

Classmate and co-captain Brady Breitmaier scored with a 40.

“The night however, belonged to co-captain Pat McLaughlin,” Wahconah coach Pete Terpak said. “The senior fired a 2-under-par, bogey-free round of 33 with birdies on No. 3 and No. 7.

“Patrick has played for me for six years, and his game has evolved into one of the best I've had the privilege to coach. If you wanted to showcase our program at Wahconah, Pat McLaughlin would be a perfect model for what we try to achieve. Scratch golf. Not many reach that level and I'm proud to have been part of his development. He will be missed.”

Wahconah Junior Tim Kaley had the team’s third score in the 30s with a 37 that included a birdie on the sixth hole.

As a team, Wahconah (11-1) finished under 150 for the fourth time this season.

Taconic was led by Cam LaFerriere and Jason Fields, who each finished at 42. Ayden Anderson was just behind at 43.

Anderson, LaFerriere and Mitch Hall Sunday head to Stockbridge Golf Club for the Berkshire Classic, where they will be joined by Wahconah’s McLaughlin, Kaley, Breitmaier, Scalise and Carter Drake.
