Monument Mountain's Hartshorn, St. Peter Earn Titles

ATHOL, Mass. -- Isaac Hartshorn and Mason St. Peter each won an individual title Saturday as the Monument Mountain wrestling team placed fourth at the season-opening Bears Invitational at Athol High School.

 

Hartshorn went 3-0 at 175 pounds, pinning Montachusett's Nelson Merced in the fourth minute of their championship bout.

 

St. Peter also went 3-0, wrestling in the 106-pound class. He earned a technical fall in the fourth minute of his finals match against Keegan McCarthy of Natick, which won the team title.

 

For Taconic, Jaxson Buzzella at 157 ended his day with a win, pinning Natick's Max Sutherland in the third-place match.
