Craig, Alibozek Lead Hoosac Valley Golfers to Victory

ADAMS, Mass. -- Corben Craig and Derek Alibozek each finished at 3-over-par 38 to lead the Hoosac Valley golf team to a 158-167 win over Taconic at Forest Park Country Club.
 
“A great day to play today and great scores as well,” Hoosac Valley coach Jason Sniezek said. “Hoosac had their season low score. Corben Craig had his season low score as well with a 38.”
 
The individual highlight of the day was the eagle recorded by Taconic’s Connor Champoux on the ninth hole. Champoux used that score to earn medalist honors with a 2-over 37.
 
Nate Murphy finished at 40 to back up Champoux. Andrew King (43) and Seamus Hayes (47) rounded out the scoring for Taconic.
 
Hayden Grimes and Henry Sniezek each finished at 41 for the Hurricanes.
 
“Some very great shots today too,” Jason Sniezek said. “Nate Murphy holed it for a birdie on No. 4 with a shot from 50 yards out. Connor Champoux holed an eagle putt on the par-4 ninth hole.”
 
Taconic plays against Pittsfield and Lenox on Friday.
 
The county’s top individuals will be in Stockbridge on Sunday for the Berkshire Classic.
