ADAMS, Mass. – Frank Field and Zach Mongeon each carded a 39 to tie for medalist honors and lead the Hoosac Valley golf team to a 167-181 win over Taconic at Forest Park Country Club on Wednesday.

Field and Mongeon each finished his day with a birdie on the par-4 ninth hole. Mongeon also birdied the par-4 fourth.

Corey Charron and Gabe Bishop rounded out the scoring for the Hurricanes.

“We shot our best team score today and I’m really happy for them,” Hoosac Valley coach Jay Sniezek said. “Great scoring from Frank Field and Zach Mongeon today and a solid round from Corey Charron.”

The ninth hole also gave up birdies to Taconic’s Cam LaFerriere and Mitch Hall. Hall ended up leading the Thunder with a 41. Ayden Anderson finished right behind him with a 42.

“Forest Park can be tricky with the roads going through the course and with some of the holes overlapping, but Hoosac plays well at home,” Taconic coach Matt Capeless said. “We might have been a little rusty playing in our first match in over a week due to multiples matches getting postponed for weather and bussing issues.

“We’re back in action tomorrow and Friday so we’re hoping to leave this one behind us and turn the page to get back to our winning ways.”

Taconic (4-2) goes to Southwick on Thursday. Hoosac Valley (5-4) is at Lee on Thursday.

Hoosac Valley (167): Frank Field 39; Corey Charron 42; Zach Mongeon 39; Nick Pompi 54; Gabe Bishop 47; Abby Scialabba 56.

Taconic (181): Cam LaFerriere 48; Cam Harrington 53; Ayden Anderson 42; Mitch Hall 41; Brayden Bishop 50; Jason Fields 50.
