Hoosac Girls Swimmers Finish Perfect Season
Cori Ghidotti and Emma Whitney were double-winners for the Hurricanes.
Ghidotti took first in the 100-yard freestyle (59.96 seconds) and the 100 breast stroke (1:16.81). Whitney won the 50 freestyle (26.43) and 100 butterfly (1:05.68) in back-to-back events.
Ghidotti and Whitney also swam legs on victorious relays for Hoosac: Ghidotti in the 200 medley relay (2:03.03) and the 200 FR (1:53.06); Whitney in the MR and 400 free relay (4:11.56).
In the boys meet, St. Joseph came out on top, 72-35.
Pat Vander Vennet won the 50 free (:27.90) and the 100 free (1:03.50) to lead the Crusaders, who also captured both the relays that were contested, the 200 MR (2:14.53) and the 200 FR (1:56:06).
Keith Pero picked up Hoosac's lone individual win in the boys competition. He won the 500 free in 6:27:35.
On the girls' side, Hoosac's individual winners included Ellie Field (200 free, 2:04.43), and Alyssa Bush (100 back- stroke, 1:16.16).
Jessie Tobin won two events for the St. Joseph girls: the 200 individual medley in 2:22.06 and the 500 free (5:29.91).
