Hoosac Valley Golfers Edge Mount Greylock in Opener

ADAMS, Mass. -- Derek Alibozek birdied his final hole to record a team-low round of 2-over-par 38 and lead the Hoosac Valley golf team to a 169-172 win over Mount Greylock on Tuesday in the season opener for both teams.
 
Alibozek birdied the 369-yard, par-4 ninth to help seal the win for the Hurricanes (1-0), who got a 39 from Henry Sniezek and matching 46s from Hayden Grimes and Luc Tombley.
 
Mount Greylock’s Ben Gilooly took medalist honors with an even par round of 36 that was highlighted by a birdie on the 342-yard, par-4 first hole.
 
Bennett Zimmerman and Connor Daley each carded a 44 for the Mounties (0-1).
 
Mount Greylock hosts Taconic, and Hoosac Valley goes to Wahconah on Thursday.
