LaBier, Wahconah Top Pittsfield in Western Mass Quarters

DALTON, Mass. -- McKenzie LaBier recorded 12 kills Tuesday as the top-seeded Wahconah volleyball team defeated Pittsfield in three sets in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class B tournament.
 
LaBier also registered five blocks in the 26-24, 25-21, 25-16 win.
 
"Missing key players, Pittsfield played a great match," Wahconah coach Dave Lussier said. "Wahconah had to work hard finding spots and defending a great service game from Pittsfield."
 
Hannah Friedman had 18 digs to go along with nine aces in the win.
 
Wahconah's Jennah Bird and Casey Wilson combined for 23 assists.
 
Wahconah will host either Putnam Voc or Belchertown in the regional semi-finals.
