Wahconah Girls Split with Taconic Hills, Springfield ICS

PITTSFIELD, Mass. –  Emma Avenia Monday won a pair of events to lead the Taconic Hills girls swim team to a 56-37 win over Wahconah at the YMCA.
 
Avenia won the 200-meter freestyle in 2 minutes, 35.80 seconds and the 100 free in 1:09.93.
 
Wahconah got a win from Ella Reardon, who took the 100 breaststroke in 1:37.25.
 
The event was a double-dual featuring Wahconah against Berkshire County League rival Taconic Hills as well as Springfield International Charter.
 
Wahconah’s girls beat the Bulldogs, 80-6, with Reardon winning the 100 breaststroke and 200 individual medley (2:50.45).
 
Sarah Kunzmann also won a pair of contested events, taking the 100 free in 1:15.21, and the 100 backstroke in 1:27.40.
 
Wahconah’s boys swam unopposed, taking a 65-0 win from Taconic Hills.
 
Riley Gladu was a double-winner against his teammates, taking the 200 free (3:06.96) and 100 breaststroke (1:29.28).
