Perenick Leads Wahconah Boys Past Pittsfield

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Alexander Perenick won four events Saturday to lead the Wahconah boys track and field team to a 76-65 win over Pittsfield.

 

In the boys meet, the Pittsfield girls dominated the sprints to run away with a 100-40 win.

 

Perenick swept the 110 and 400 hurdles and placed first in the long jump and shot put.

 

His Wahconah teammate Payton Shippee won the 400 meters and two throwing events, the discus and the javelin.

 

Pittsfield’s boys were led by Dakarre Dorsett, who won the 100 meters and 200 meters.

 

Pittsfield’s girls took seven of the top nine places in the 100, 200 and 400.

 

Randi Duquette won the 100 and placed second in the 200. Dezerea Powell won the 200 and placed second in the 100.

 

Ava Telladira led a 1-2-3 finish for the Generals in the 400.

 

Duqette also won the high jump, and Powell took the long jump. Pittsfield’s Grace Ungewitter was a triple winner, taking the 1,600, 3,200 and javelin.

 

Wahconah’s Kathryn Perrone completed a boys-girls sweep for her team in the hurdles, winning the 100 and the 400. Wahconah thrower Adelyn Furlong won the shot put and discus.
