Wahconah Golfer Have Best Day of Season, Earn Two Wins

LENOX, Mass. -- Jon Dos Santos medaled and led three Wahconah players under 40 on Thursday as their team earned two wins at Cranwell.
 
Santos’ 1-over round of 36 included a birdie on the par-3 fifth hole.
 
Wahconah also got a 38 from Colette Basiliere and a 39 from Nate Dos Santos, who birdied a pair of par 4s, Nos. 7 and 9.
 
Wahconah took a 160-189 win from host Lenox and a 160-213 win over Mount Everett.
 
“We picked up two wins but more importantly we finally played well,” Wahconah coach Pete Terpak said. “We endured three tough losses this season by very slight margins and in those matches we never played up to our potential
 
“Today our group showed we are capable of very good scores. I'm very happy for them ...Jon, Colette and Nathan played exceptional for us. Hopefully we can build on what we accomplished today.”
 
Sam Clayton scored for Wahconah (6-3) with a 47 that included a birdie on the par-5 second hole.
 
Lenox was led by Matt Shields and Noah Hunter, who finished at 45 and 46, respectively. Mount Everett’s Tucker Wilkinson carded a 49.
 
Wahconah goes to Pittsfield on Tuesday.
