Wahconah Girls, Pittsfield Boys Win

DALTON, MASS. -- Victoria Gamberoni was a triple winner on Tuesday to lead the Wahconah girls track and field team to 77-64 win over Pittsfield.
 
Gamberoni won the 800 meters, 1600 meters and 3200 meters in the victory.
 
Her day started in the mile run, where she clocked a time of 5 minutes, 34.79 seconds. In the 800, she finished in 2:2636 to edge teammate Kat Bruce for the second time in two races.
 
Gamberoni capped her day in the 2-mile run, where she outkicked teammate Sarah Houle for a five-second win, finishing in 12:43.14.
 
Lily Pudlo won twice for Wahconah, taking the shot put with a throw of 23 feet, 10 inches and winning the triple jump with a mark of 31-5.
 
Molly Tierney won three events for PHS.
 
She swept the hurdles, winning the 100 hurdles in 18.09 and the 400 in 1:14.49. She won the long jump in 13-8.
 
Pittsfield’s boys downed Wahconah, 108-33 behind a sweep in the jumps by Grady Pederson.
 
Pederson won the long jump in 19-2-½, the triple jump in 42-7 and the high jump in 5-6.
 
Wahconah’s Sean Harvey swept the hurdles, winning the 110 in 15.87 and the 400 in 59.48.
