Gilooly Makes Adjustment, Leads Mounties to Victory

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Ben Gilooly overcame a wet Waubeeka Golf Links to card a 1-over-par 37, earning medalist honors and leading the Mount Greylock golf team to a 183-201 win over Wahconah on Monday.
 
Gilooly started his day with a birdie on the 351-yard, par-4 first hole.
 
"Ben played smooth and steady after making a productive swing correction over the weekend and quickly adapted to what I asked of him," Mount Greylock coach Mitchell Spooner said. "Wahconah came into a very tough playing Waubeeka and put up a strong team effort."
 
Mount Greylock's Owen Petropolus birdied the 176-yard, par-3 seventh hole en route to a 45. And the Mounties got scores from Brayden Smith (47) and Alexander Axt (54).
 
Wahconah was led by by Emily Figiela with a 47 and Daniel Wilson with a 49.
 
Wahconah hosts Pittsfield, and Mount Greylock is at Taconic on Tuesday.
