WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Caroline Hadley had 13 kills Friday to lead the Mount Greylock volleyball team to a five-set win over Lenox.

Hadley added to her stat sheet with five digs and a block as the Mounties pulled out a 19-25, 25-19, 25-19, 22-25, 15-13 victory.

“Lenox played a great match all the way around and pressed us with tough serving and strong attacks,” Mount Greylock coach Greg Geyer said. “The Lenox athletes really played well.   Kayanna [Black] and Katie [Colvin] were really strong up the middle and in their serving.”

Colvin finished with four aces to go with eight kills and seven digs. Black had 10 kills and four blocks while recording three aces.

Maddie Albert had 31 assists and 11 digs for the Mounties, who got 12 kills and a pair of blocks from Hannah Byrnes.

“Our defense made a big difference versus Lenox's strong attack and kept us in the match when we were struggling offensively,” Geyer said. “Gabby Alvarez and the team made key defensive plays in Set 3 and in Set 5 to close out the match.”

Lenox goes to Mount Anthony on Monday. Mount Greylock hosts Mount Everett on Wednesday.
