MARSHFIELD, Mass. -- Mount Greylock senior Ben Gilooly Tuesday carded a 10-over-par round of 82 to tie for 36th place at the State Division 2 Championship at Marshfield Country Club.

Gilooly, who qualified as an individual out of last week’s Western Mass tournament, finished eight strokes behind medalist Josh Lavallee of Central Catholic, who came in at 2-over 74.

Hopkinton was the team champion, compiling a score of 310 to finish six strokes ahead of runner-up Danvers.

Western Mass champion Hoosac Valley placed 13th in the field.

"Tough day for us," Hoosac Valley coach Jay Sniezek said. "Really didn’t have it going like last week. Greens were very quick and it was tough getting used to the speed with chips and putts. Hats off to the Eastern Mass teams with low scores. We are very happy with our season and our Western Mass Championship win."

The Hurricanes were led by Derek Alibozek, who tied for 58th place at 86. Western Mass champ Henry Sniezek tied for 75th at 89.

Hayden Grimes carded a 98, and Colby Rougeau and Luc Trombley each finished at 102 to round out the scoring for Hoosac Valley.
