WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Emma Hayward had 19 digs in Mount Greylock’s three-set, Senior Night win over Pittsfield on Tuesday night.

But it was the libero’s lone kill that stole the show.

“Senior Emma Hayward's kill from the back row came off of an assist from senior teammate Alyssa Phelps during the second set,” Mount Greylock coach Greg Geyer said. “Alyssa and Emma have played together on Mount Greylock since seventh grade. Their first coach, Tania Hernandez, came back this season to help with JV and varsity and there were lots of tears during Senior Night.”

Phelps had 10 digs and four aces in the 26-24, 25-17, 25-13 win.

Takeira Darrow led the Mounties with 11 kills and had 14 digs and a pair of aces. Celina Savage notched three kills and a pair of blocks. And Jackie Brannan, Emma Sandstrom and Charlotte Coody each had three kills. Coody also quarterbacked the Mounties’ offense, passing out 27 assists.

Maggie Burke had 10 assists for the Generals, who got six kills from Ava Sinopoli and four kills from Jasmyn Roark Somersall.

Pittsfield goes to Lenox on Thursday for a Berkshire County North Division playoff game; the winner goes to Mount Greylock on Friday for the semi-finals.
