Mount Greylock Girls Tennis Fall in State Tourney's First Round

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Mia Patrick was the lone winner for the 12th-seeded Mount Greylock girls tennis team in a 4-1 loss to Uxbridge on Sunday in the first round of the Division 4 State Tournament.
 
Patrick topped Sophie Compston, 6-3, 7-5, but Uxbridge pulled out the other two singles points in narrow fashion and swept the doubles points to improve to 15-4 this spring.
 
Singles
No. 1 Julie Compston (U) def. Mai O’Connor, 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-3).
No. 2 Mia Patrick (MG) def. Sophie Compston, 6-3, 7-5.
No. 3 Samantha Hinchcliffe (U) def. Charlotte Holubar, 7-6 (7-5), 4-6.
Doubles
No. 1 Avery Guillette/Bella Nolan (U) def. Piper Schulman/Clarissa Louis, 6-1, 6-2.
No. 2 Abby Sanches/Ella Haker (U) def. Effie Skinner/Beatrice Pedroni, 6-3, 6-1.
