Mount Greylock Girls, Lenox Boys Earn Opening Day Wins

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Mai O’Connor earned a three-set win at first singles Monday as the Mount Greylock girls tennis team took a 4-1 decision from Lenox.
 
The Lenox boys swept the Mounties in their match, highlighted by 6-0 wins from Michael Peretti at third singles and the No. 1 doubles tandem of Alex Fuester and Niki Ilia.
 
Lenox’s girls got their point at No. 3 singles, where Charlie Kator earned a 6-2, 6-2 win.
 
At first singles, O’Connor came from behind after dropping the first set to edge eighth-grader Rory Lenehan.
 
Lenox is off until Monday when it hosts Monument Mountain.
 
Mount Greylock goes to Mount Everett on Wednesday.
