GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – Jude Bakija and Zeke Singer gave the Mount Greylock boys cross country team the depth it needed to complete a 3-0 day in dual meet action in a five-team meet at Monument Mountain on Wednesday.

The Mounties were led by Ollie Swabey, who finished second in 16 minutes, 55.81 seconds. And Andrew Petropulos and Rafa Mellow-Bartels placed in the top six.

But points wise, the 14th- and 15th-place finishes from Bakija and Singer allowed Mount Greylock to earn a 23-34 win over Wahconah to stay unbeaten in duals this fall.

The Mounties also raced against the host Spartans, who were led by individual winner Everett Pacheco (16:33.67).

Lenox’s boys also went 3-0 in duals behind a third-place finish by Cormac Mathews. Wahconah’s and Pittsfield’s boys each earned a pair of wins.

Seth Aitken placed fifth to lead Pittsfield. Wahconah had a strong pack of finishers with Noah Wesley, Fritz Sanders, Aidan Garcia and Cadighan Gladu placing eighth through 13th with less than a minute between them.

The Lenox and Mount Greylock girls also went 3-0 on Wednesday.

The Millionaires got another first-place finish from Alice Culver (19:25.24), who finished 53 seconds ahead of the field. Teammates Nora Schoeny and Lila Kousch backed her up by placing eighth and ninth, respectively.
