WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Mount Greylock boys tennis team earned a 5-0 win over Lenox on Thursday at Williams College’s Torrence M. Hunt Tennis Courts.

Although the final margin was comfortable, the Mounites (5-1) were pushed hard at Nos. 2 and 3 singles, where Jacob Fink and Josh Narey prevailed.

Fink topped Lenox’s Hugo Hale, 6-3, 7-5, at No. 2. Narey prevailed over Cam Abderhalden, 6-4, 6-4, in the day’s longest match.

“I think the second set, I started picking my feet up more,” Narey said. “About halfway through, I realized I need to keep the feet up and move the ball around more, because he was getting everything back.

“I just needed to push harder than him.”

Mount Greylock got a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles from Gray Kaegi against Lenox’s Henrik Palmer.

At No. 1 doubles, Matt Wiseman and Brady Foehl defeated Noah Kalischer-Coggins and Kevin Coakley, 6-0, 6-2. The Mounties’ Sam Dils and Toby Foehl defeated Ryan Silverstein and Alec Jordan, 6-1, 6-3.

In girls action, Lenox’s doubles tandems dropped two games between them as the Millionaires earned a 5-0 win.

At first doubles, the tandem of Morgan Hayden and Alex Trousilek prevailed, 6-1, 6-0. At second doubles, Sarah Baron and Rosemary Pehlert won, 6-0, 6-1.

Lenox’s Victoria Vittori defeated Josie Dalsin, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 1 singles. Liz Jarck and Ella King earned straight set wins at Nos. 2 and 3 singles, respectively.

On Monday, Lenox hosts Lee, and Mount Greylock travels to Monument Mountain.
