Mount Greylock Bowlers Take Narrow Lead Atop League Standings

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Mark Hayden rolled a 429 series on Friday to lead the Mount Greylock bowling team to victory and first place after two weeks in the Berkshire County Bowling League.
 
The Mounties defeated Wahconah, 29-2, for their second win and 51st point of the season, putting them just ahead of Lee High's "A" team for first place in the 10-team league.
 
The Wildcats on Friday also won, defeating the Lee Black squad, 27-4, behind a 417 series by Zach Reynolds.
 
Other winners on Friday included Drury, a 25-6y victor over McCann Tech, Monument Mountain (29-2 over Mount Everett) and Pittsfield, which used a 435 series by A.J. Moore to edge Taconic, 16-15.
 
Monument Mountain's Tom Hankey Jr. rolled the day's top game (268) and top series (533).
 
Friday's top scores among the girls belonged to Taconic's Lynsey Aldam, who recorded a 223 game and 416 series.
 
The league's action shifts to Ken's Bowl in Pittsfield on Friday, when second-place Lee will face off against No. 3 Drury.
