Mount Greylock's Wells, Seid Win at BCC

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The Mount Greylock girls cross country team dominated Wednesday’s race at Berkshire Community College, while the Mounties’ boys put six in the top 10 of a competitive field.
 
Lilliana Wells won the girls race with a time of 20 minutes, 56 seconds. She was followed across the finish line by three of her teammates, and 10 of the top 11 spots overall went to Mount Greylock.
 
Hazel Scullin, Josephine Smith and Margo Smith were second through fourth, respectively, before host Taconic’s Mary Hayes placed fifth in 21:17.
 
Pittsfield got a 12th-place finish from Emelyn Theriault (22:57), and Mount Everett was led by Carly Duval (26:01) in 35th place.
 
Jesse Seid won the boys race for Mount Greylock with a time of 16:42, 24 seconds ahead of the field.
 
Mount Greylock also got top 10 showings from Sam Culver, Josh Cheung, Owen Brandriss, Jakin Miller and Jacob Fink.
 
Taconic was led by Jacob Paris (17:07) in second place and Brandon Pelkey in ninth.
 
Pittsfield placed a pair in the top 10 with Amin Purry (17:26) finishing fourth and Paul Wales in sixth.
 
Cole Duval led Mount Everett with a 17th-place time of 19:00.
