Monument Mountain Boys, Girls Sweep Pittsfield

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Harry Albert and Ethan Dean each won a pair of races to lead the Monument Mountain boys swimming team to a 103-66 win over Pittsfield as the Spartans’ boys and girls each picked up victories.
 
In the girls meet, Olivia Rubino and Ashley Wellenkamp were double winners for Monument Mountain, which won, 119-51.
 
Wellenkamp won the day’s first individual race, taking the 200-yard freestyle in 2 minutes, 2.12 seconds. She later won the 500 free in 5:49.40.
 
Rubino won the 50 free in 22.84 seconds and the 100 free in 58.83.
 
Szofia Lewis picked up a win for Pittsfield in the 100 breaststroke, touching the wall in 1:14.26.
 
The Spartans, meanwhile, swept all three relays.
 
In boys race, Albert did the same double as Wellenkamp, taking the 200 free in 2:04.59 and the 500 free in 5:36.22.
 
Dean, like Rubino, won the 50 free in 25:16 and the 100 free in 56.95.
 
Pittsfield got wins from Isaac Boyd in the 200 individual medley (2:11.58) and Calvin Lewis in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.40). The Generals also won the 200 medley relay to open the meet.
 
Pittsfield goes to Hudson, N.Y., and Monument Mountain goes to New Lebanon, N.Y., on Wednesday.
