GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Matthew Iemolini birdied the 10th hole to get his day going in the right direction and went on to earn medalist honors with a round of 44 that led Monument Mountain’s golf team to a 181-212 win over St. Joseph on Tuesday.

It was the Spartans’ second win in as many days as the team clinched a berth in the Western Massachusetts tournament.

“That was [Matthew Iemolini’s] first time as a medalist this year, and we had the team’s second lowest total of the year,” Monument coach Rick Iemolini said. “The team really stepped up at the end of the season.”

Max Joyner carded a 45, and Jackson Cunningham each finished at 45 for Monument Mountain.

St. Joseph was led by Jacob Felix with a 47.
