Pittsfield Public Schools Seeking Girls, Boys Varsity Tennis Coaches

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Pittsfield High School is seeking applicants for the positions of head varsity girls tennis coach and head varsity boys tennis coach for the Spring 2022 season.
 
The teams, hosted by Pittsfield High School, will be co-op programs, with rosters made up of students from both Pittsfield High and Taconic. 
 
The successful candidates for the paid positions will be responsible for providing leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of student-athletes. Ability to teach fundamental tennis techniques, playing rules, and game strategies is required. 
 
Excellent communications skills and a philosophy consistent with the mission and goals of the school are expected. The candidate should have the ability to convey messages of sportsmanship, work ethic, and responsibility to one’s team. 
 
Additional responsibilities of the position include conducting well-organized practices, recruiting prospective students enrolled at both high schools, coordinating facility needs, and completing MIAA required coaching workshops.  Practices and home matches take place at Herberg Middle School and Reid Middle School
 
Experience as a coach at the high school level is preferred, but not required. 
 
The application deadline is March 1.
 
The season traditionally runs from March 21 through early June.
